Our God Reigns

Acoustic demo of one of two new songs I've just written. I wrote it with the intention of writing a song that celebrates who God is - how big and powerful, and yet how merciful he is.

Your Spirit

So, with a series on Spiritual Gifts, i guess now is the time to be introducing one of my recent writings.

I am constantly challenged that the gift of the Holy Spirit doesn’t bring anarchy but submission and obedience to God.

We sang this song on the Saturday evening of LOVE:NATIONS 2010 and are likely to sing it a little over this Spiritual Gifts series.  Viv and i worked on a recording of ‘Your Spirit’ a few weeks ago - we hope you like it.

I’m leaving Leeds tomorrow, so was supposed to pack this afternoon. However, could not be bothered, so I wrote a song instead. It’s ruddy rough, and I have a cold, so apologies for sniffling, tea sipping, chair creaking etc. Here are the lyrics:

This is the first full song I've written.

I’ve been back home this week and had quite a bit of free time and this song formed while I was meditating on Psalm 139 and messing around on my brothers beautiful new piano…

One of my songs for uni

This was one of the songs I submitted at uni

I found out the night before I wrote this I didn’t have a week and a bit to write a song and record it, I had a few days. As I was sat up I remember praying about what to write and this came to mind. It was all knocked together very quickly but with the thanks to a few people from church it came together.
